Congratulations FoodShare Volunteers!
Our team has been awarded the Two Cities One Community Volunteer Award at the City of Wodonga Volunteer Awards, which was held during National Volunteer Week.
These awards recognise excellence in voluntary service and show appreciation for the quality and depth of voluntary service to the community.
The presentation ceremony was held at Hyphen on 18 May 2022 and FoodShare’s Assistant Manager Katrina Pawley accepted the Volunteer Award on behalf of FoodShare.
“It means a lot to be recognised in this way. It’s a massive team effort and a well-deserved award for our volunteers” said Katrina.
FoodShare has over 150 volunteers with up to 30 volunteers working at FoodShare every day. Collectively our volunteers provide about 23,000 hours of service per year, which is valued at more than $575,000.
Following the award ceremony, FoodShare volunteer Rodger Adams received a certificate of appreciation from City of Wodonga in recognition for his award nomination and contribution to the local community.
Rodger volunteers 20 hours of his time over three days a week driving the forklift which is an invaluable service to FoodShare.
To every person in our community who volunteers - thank you!
