FoodShare is collaborating with The Personnel Group to provide community pantry vouchers across multiple locations in Albury-Wodonga.
From today (Tuesday 19 April), FoodShare vouchers are available from The Personnel Group’s offices at 318 Urana Road, Lavington, 539-541 Kiewa Street, Albury, and the corner of Hume and Lawrence Streets, Wodonga.
The Personnel Group CEO John Gibbons says the organisation is proud to embrace the FoodShare community pantry program.
“FoodShare’s vision and values definitely align with The Personnel Group’s and we are proud to provide this important service for the wider Border community,” John Gibbons says.
“Together, FoodShare and The Personnel Group have been making a positive difference in our community and this partnership is a natural and obvious fit.
“The FoodShare Shop is a terrific initiative and offering vouchers across multiple sites in Albury and Wodonga will make it easier and more convenient for people needing emergency food assistance.”
The $15 and $25 vouchers can be used for FoodShare’s Community Pantry program to access groceries at the FoodShare Shop in Wigg Street, Wodonga.
“This partnership with The Personnel Group is allowing us to support more people in the community faced with the challenge of providing healthy fresh food for their families,” FoodShare’s Assistant Manager Katrina Pawley said.
“This collaboration is a wholistic approach to delivering support services to the community and by working together we can help achieve positive outcomes for those in need”.
Anyone with a voucher has the choice between collecting a personalised food hamper packed by FoodShare’s volunteers or visiting the FoodShare Shop to select their own groceries.
The shop stocks fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy and protein, pantry staples, household items, frozen pre-prepared meals and pet food.
FoodShare introduced its Community Pantry service in response to the evolving impacts of COVID-19 to support people experiencing financial hardship access to fresh, healthy food.
