We welcome Sue to the team

We are so pleased to introduce Sue Thornton to the FoodShare team who is taking on the vital role of Administration and Volunteer Coordinator.

After running a successful family business for many years, Sue graduated from the Alpine Valleys Community Leadership Program with a desire for greater community involvement.  She started volunteering with FoodShare in November 2019 and is a great believer in sustainability, recycling and equal access.

Currently 800,000 kilograms of food is collected each year by FoodShare from over 65 suppliers. This equates to 1.55 million meals per year which is distributed to 24,000 people in the community experiencing financial hardship through 225 regional agencies, educational institutions and community groups. FoodShare’s catchment area operates within a 150km radius of Albury-Wodonga.

Sue will support FoodShare by liasing with our network of agencies and local suppliers as well as provide support to FoodShare’s team of incredible volunteers.
