On Saturday 6 July the local Wodonga Raiders played the Wodonga Bulldogs at Martin Park.
At half time Findex staff put their skills to the test to kick some goals for local charities. Each goal was a $500 donation and Albury Wodonga Regional FoodShare received $2,000 from the half time events.
This was the first time the Findex Annual Footy Day was held in Wodonga.
There are 24,200 people living in poverty in our region and over 5,000 of them are children. FoodShare rescues over 763,000 kilograms of food per year and distributes this to over 200 agencies, schools and neighbourhood centres across the region.
The funding received from Findex will go directly towards providing good quality nutritious food for people in financial stress as FoodShare empowers people to make their way out of poverty.
