We would like to share that FoodShare has received funding from the NSW Government through the NSW Environment Protection Authority to expand our capacity for food rescue and relief operations in Southern NSW.
The Feed More, Waste Less project will identify new food suppliers (supermarkets, farmers and food manufacturers) to divert food from landfill. The rescued food will be shared to an enhanced network of food relief organisations to help those struggling to put food on the table.
The NSW EPA Food Rescue Grant will fund resources for the next three years to increase capacity across the Riverina and Murry Regions. The opportunity to rescue more food will enable us to support more people experiencing food insecurity, particularly from areas that have been missing out on our services.
We are incredibly grateful for this grant and the opportunity to have a positive impact on the environment and our community.
