FoodShare is excited to bring OzHarvest’s NEST (Nutrition Education Skills Training) program to the Albury–Wodonga community, offering locals a fun and practical way to build healthy eating habits.
The NEST program is designed to make learning about nutrition simple, engaging, and accessible. Delivered over six weeks, each session runs for 2.5 hours on the same day and time each week. Participants will enjoy a mix of interactive activities, hands-on cooking classes, and shared meals prepared together.
Through the program, community members will gain valuable skills in preparing nutritious, low-cost meals while also learning how to reduce food waste—an important step toward healthier households and a more sustainable community.
To support the delivery of this initiative, FoodShare is currently seeking both paid and volunteer facilitators in the Albury–Wodonga region.
FoodShare is looking for people with:
- Experience in community education, nutrition, cooking, or food programs
- A background in nutrition, health promotion, dietetics, community services, hospitality, or teaching (desirable)
- Strong communication and group facilitation skills
- A passion for healthy food, community wellbeing, and reducing food waste
This is a great opportunity for individuals who want to make a meaningful impact while sharing their knowledge and skills with others.
Anyone interested in becoming a facilitator is encouraged to get in touch by emailing info@foodshare.org.au or calling 02 6059 5555 for more information.
FoodShare also extends its thanks to Hume Bank for supporting this initiative and helping bring vital food education programs to the local community.
