Families across the Albury-Wodonga region are invited to enjoy a morning of Easter fun when the Border Easter Egg Hunt returns to the Albury Botanic Gardens on Saturday 28 March, from 9am to 12pm.
Now a much-loved local tradition, the event has been running since 2018, originally founded by a dedicated group of volunteers. Over the years, the Border Easter Egg Hunt has proudly contributed more than $75,000 back into the community, supporting a wide range of local charities and causes.
In 2024, Albury Wodonga FoodShare proudly took ownership of the event, welcoming more than 1,500 children and families and raising over $36,000 to support FoodShare’s vital community programs.
This year’s event is expected to attract more than 700 children, with a packed program of entertainment and activities including special appearances from the Easter Bunny and the Mad Hatter, plus the much-anticipated Easter Hat Parade.
To make the day even more exciting, there will be five times the number of Easter eggs this year — ensuring plenty of chocolatey fun for everyone. To give every child a fair chance, the Easter egg hunt will be run in age groups from youngest to oldest.
Children are also encouraged to get creative and bring along a handmade festive hat to join the parade, with prizes awarded for the most eggstraordinary creations.
While the event is full of fun and community spirit, it also plays an important role in raising funds for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity across the region.
Albury Wodonga FoodShare CEO Katrina Pawley said local sponsorship support is vital to ensure FoodShare can continue helping those doing it tough.
“By becoming an event sponsor, you are helping FoodShare provide food and support for locals who are struggling to put food on the table,” Ms Pawley said.
FoodShare is thrilled to welcome back the Rotary Club of Albury as the Major Event Partner, along with the Murray Conservatorium as a valued Event Partner.
