This December, Albury-Wodonga FoodShare are once again teaming up with Hive Rotary to bring festive cheer to our community through our annual Charity Christmas Gift-Wrapping Service.
Thanks to the generous support of MYER Centrepoint, our volunteers—alongside Hive Rotary’s—will be ready to wrap all your Christmas gifts, whether they’re big, small, or wonderfully odd-shaped. All you need to do is drop your gifts off, go about your day, and collect them later beautifully wrapped. Every donation helps us continue supporting local families in need.
This year, MYER Centrepoint has gone the extra mile by donating not one but two spaces for our gift-wrapping stations, including a newly fitted-out Christmas Wonderland in the former Jeanswest store off Olive Street. It’s a magical backdrop for our volunteers, who will be there every day from 4 December to 24 December, helping you tick one more job off your Christmas list.
We’ve partnered with Hive Rotary for several years now, sharing the daily shifts—one of us takes the morning, the other the afternoon. Our incredible volunteers, joined this year by corporate volunteers who will be giving their time throughout December to give back to the community.
Our Operations Manager, Sue Thornton, coordinates the event and manages the volunteer rosters. As Sue explains: “Our volunteers really enjoy this activity — they help us daily with our operations getting food out into the community, so this is a nice change of pace, a chance to be a little creative and get into the Christmas spirit.”
We welcome donations via cash or EFTPOS, with all proceeds supporting our work and that of Hive Rotary. We’ll also have a dedicated space for non-perishable food donations, giving you another way to make a meaningful difference this Christmas.
