Holiday Hours

We will be closed from 12 noon on Friday 24 December and will open again on Wednesday 29 December 2021.

We will also be closed on Monday 3 January 2022.

We are so appreciative of the generosity we have received from the community and support from local businesses in the lead up to Christmas.

As a last-minute gift for a family in need, please consider making a donation to FoodShare.

Best wishes from everyone at FoodShare.

Help make a difference

This year has been another of significant challenges and change at FoodShare with the long-term impacts of restrictions imposed from the coronavirus causing deep uncertainty for many and an increase in demand for our services. It has also been a time where our role as a critical service provider has been affirmed, partnerships strengthened and new initiatives developed.

Behind the scenes, we have been working with Local Government Authorities to ensure food is easily accessible by those in need and working closely with community organisations who quietly do a power of work to support the most vulnerable. If 2021 has taught us anything, it is that things can change quickly, and we are proud that we have been able to respond.

This year saw the expansion of the Community Pantry program, which enabled the continuation of food hampers but also the opening of the FoodShare Shop to further support those in the community experiencing financial hardship by providing access to a wider range of quality nutritious food.

We are asking those who can give, to consider donating to FoodShare to enable us to purchase additional food. We have experienced shortages of basic essentials, resulting in the need to purchase what is not available through our generous food partners.

Every $25 donated will help us to fill a hamper for a local family and ensure that nutritious food is on the table.

Alternatively, you can support local families in need this Christmas by buying a few extra groceries and donating them to our warehouse (1/10 Stead Street, Wodonga) or you can place them in the FoodShare trolleys and baskets at these supermarkets:

Woolworths White Box Rise, Wodonga
Woolworths Wodonga Plaza, Wodonga
Coles Wodonga Plaza, Wodonga
Coles, Central Albury

Thank you for your support.

Thank you to our volunteers

FoodShare's volunteers do an amazing job every day preparing agency orders, driving the vans, collecting and sorting rescued food as well as packing hampers and assisting shoppers in the new FoodShare Shop.

We are so grateful for their contribution which enables FoodShare to support so many families in North East Victorian and Southern NSW communities.

To support our growing operations, we need more volunteers next year to assist on week days to drive our vans, operate the forklift and assist with preparing orders in the warehouse.

To join the team, give Sue our Volunteer Coordinator a call on 02 6059 5555.

A visit from Helen Haines MP

We had the pleasure of showing Helen Haines MP our new FoodShare Shop, which opened a few weeks ago and has already helped so many locals experiencing financial hardship with access to quality nutritious food.

Take a look at her impressions of the new service.

This morning Border Trust hosted the first of their Community Window project morning tea’s.

It was lovely to meet so many supporters of FoodShare and we are very appreciative of the generous donations of non-perishable food items that will assist us with supporting local families in need in the lead up to Christmas.

Many thanks to the staff from Border Trust, Hume Bank and Adroit Insurance & Risk as well as the community members who made these donations.

Supporting our Local Community

A massive thank you to Kensington Garden Resident's Workshop for their $1,000 donation.

Ross and Graham said their committee chose to support FoodShare as a lot of people had a very ordinary year and appreciated what we do to support locals in need.
