Foodshare has been awarded a 2026 People of Post Grant, securing $2,000 to support the, Nourishing Our Community project.

The funding is part of Australia Post’s People of Post program, which recognises and supports grassroots organisations making a meaningful impact in their local communities.

The grant was made possible through the nomination of Tamanna Lal, reflecting the strong connection between Australia Post team members and the causes they care about. The program celebrates these community ties by empowering employees to champion organisations that are creating positive change.

Foodshare plays a vital role in providing food relief across the region, and the additional funding comes at a critical time as demand continues to rise.

“We’re really grateful to receive this grant — it means a lot to know the work we do is seen and valued by our community,” said FoodShare CEO Katrina Pawley.

“This funding will make a real difference by helping us purchase essential food supplies at a time when demand is growing.

“We’re seeing a big increase in people reaching out for the first time, as more are having to choose between putting fuel in the car and buying basic groceries.”

The grant will directly support the organisation’s ability to source and distribute essential food items, helping ensure individuals and families across the Albury-Wodonga region have access to nutritious meals when they need it most.
