FoodShare's Community Pantry responds to the evolving impacts of COVID-19 to support people who need emergency food assistance.
This new program provides food hampers, packed by our volunteers, to those experiencing financial hardship. With no sector or demographic immune to the immediate and flow-on effects of COVID-19, FoodShare’s Community Pantry service is accessible to anyone that has been impacted and requires emergency food assistance.
Depending on availability, the hampers contain food staples such as fresh fruit and vegetables, long life milk, fresh and frozen protein as well as non-perishable food such as cereal, muesli bars and canned food. Frozen pre-prepared meals and some household items can also be included in your hamper. Pet food for dogs and cats is also available for pet owners.
Once a request for a hamper has been received, our volunteers will be in contact with you to arrange a time for your hamper to be collected from the FoodShare Warehouse or delivered to you in Albury-Wodonga.
Strict hygiene standards apply in our warehouse as well as to our contactless delivery services.
This is a free service available to Albury-Wodonga residents. With additional funding to support our Community Pantry, this service could be made available to surrounding communities.
