The FoodShare fundraising event was held on Friday 20 September at the Old Beechworth Gaol. The dinner was attended by 120 guests and raised $12,000 for FoodShare. This will directly assist us with continuing to provide 25,000 meals a week to people in need across our region.
We were overjoyed by the support we received from the community. It was great to see everyone seated at the long banquet table enjoying the delicious meal prepared by Taste Trekkers with ingredients sourced from FoodShare donors. The bar was also very popular at the guard’s station which was stocked with Bilson’s beverages and Traviarti wine. The tables also looked beautiful with the floral arrangements from Beechworth Floral Designs which were auctioned off at the end of the evening.
We were also pleased to introduce JWP Architects as a new corporate partner and we are looking forward to building relationships with other sponsors as we continue to seek vital funding to support our quest in finding a new home for FoodShare.
The event also launched the FoodShare Buy a Brick Fundraiser to raise funds for the new FoodShare warehouse. Everyone that buys a brick in the lead up to the opening of the new warehouse will have their name included on a plaque in the new building. With 25 brick donations received on the night we are underway to reaching our target of 1,000 bricks.

Thank you to everyone that attended the dinner and we look forward to hosting you at the next FoodShare fundraiser event.
FoodShare has been fundraising for a new refrigerated delivery van to provide emergency food relief to the community.
We are humbled by the support we have received and are pleased to share with you that our new van will be on the road very soon.
This has been made possible from the funding received from
The NSW Government funding was granted last week and was based on the votes received from residents in relation to which projects they would like to see receive funding to improve the wellbeing of the people and communities in our region.
A huge thank you to Member for Albury, Justin Clancy MP and the NSW State Government as well as members of the community that voted for our My Community Project which was the final piece of funding that has enabled us to get our new refrigerated van on the road.
YOU VOTED & WE WON!
We are absolutely delighted to announce that FoodShare was successful in our NSW State Government My Community Project application, providing the final piece of funding for our new refrigerated van. A huge thank you to Justin Clancy MP and the NSW State Government for this opportunity & to everyone who voted for us - you really did make a difference!
We are also so appreciative of the support and significant contributions from the Rotary Club of Albury, the Rotary Club of Albury Foundation, ACE Radio 2AY & Edge FM with Philanthropic Partners the Geoff & Helen Handbury Foundation and Albury Wodonga Connected Communities. Your financial contributions and goodwill will ensure we can continue to distribute rescued food to those who need it most.
We'll be on the road with the new van in next to no time. Keep an eye out for us!
